Are you passionate about the ancient world and skilled at bringing its stories, cultures, and philosophies to life? We are seeking a committed and inspiring Classical Civilisation Teacher to join our team on a temporary basis to deliver OCR A Level Classical Civilisation from 6th January to April 2025 . There is a possibility for the right canididate for the position to be extended.

The role of Classical Civilisation Teacher:
  • Teach A Level Classical Civilisation, focusing on the study of ancient literature, history, and culture, with topics including:
    • Homer's Odyssey and Society
    • Imperial Image: Augustus and Roman Ideology
    • Greek Religion and its Impact on Society
  • Support students in developing critical thinking and analytical skills through the exploration of classical texts, ancient societies, and their relevance today.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that prepare students for academic success in both exams and independent research.
Classical Civilisation Teacher Requirements:
  • A degree in Classics, Classical Civilisation, Ancient History, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching at A Level or equivalent, with strong subject knowledge.
  • A passion for classical studies and the ability to inspire curiosity and enthusiasm in students.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a commitment to supporting students' academic growth.
