We are currently looking for an Autism Support Teaching Assistant to join an Autism Support Provisions Unit within a fantastic Primary school in Barnet.

The Role

In this role you will be supporting pupils with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition on a 1 to 1 and group basis. You will supporting pupils across a range of classes and learning activities. You will be required to build relationships and establish a routine with students. You should have a good basic, understanding of autism and understand how to ensure the learning environment is suitable, communicate clearly in suitable ways and integrate pupil's interests. You will work closely with teachers and parents/carers and be involved in assessments and reporting in line with the requirements of children Education Health Care plans (EHCP).

The school are ideally looking for a teaching assistant with experience supporting students with autism but are open to applications from  other teaching assistants and graduates with a desire to build experience in SEN.

The School

The Special Resource Provision is for pupils with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) as a primary need in their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The provision is based is based within a larger Barnet secondary school and offers up to 7 pupils a place per year group. As far as possible, the Special Provision Unit students who are able to access the main school will follow the National Curriculum.
