We are looking for a dedicated Science Teacher for a SEN unit within a mainstream secondary school in Barnet starting as soon as possible. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Science Teacher to foster their enthusiasm and passion for science among students with SEN.
The role As the successful Science Teacher, you will be providing a safe environment to encourage students to participate in science lessons. At this school, p upils are given individual programmes and support based on their needs and previous learning. This ensures that these pupils make remarkable progress and are prepared effectively for life after school . The position is teaching children within the specialist SEND unit that is set within a mainstream secondary school, which enables pupils to be part of a thriving school community whilst receiving specialist support and onsite therapies.
The ideal candidate The school believes the quality of staff is crucial to pupils’ success and therefore the successful Science Teacher must have the following:
- An ability to teach science up to GCSE Level
- (Desirable) To be able to teach mathematics up to GCSE level
- A passion for science
- An ability to promote effective teaching and learning
The school Situated in Barnet and near tube and bus links, this SEN unit is based on the site of a mainstream secondary school that is very popular and oversubscribed. The school are well known in the community and actively take part in community events which teachers and support staff can also be involved in!
