Job Description:We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our vibrant and SEN/PRU/SEMH Primary & Secondary Schools in Barnet. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with children with diverse learning needs, providing high-quality support and interventions tailored to individual students.
Key Responsibilities:- Support teachers in delivering lessons to small groups and 1:1 for students with special educational needs.
- Plan, deliver, and assess tailored interventions for students with various learning and behavioral needs.
- Work closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Foster an inclusive learning environment, promoting the participation of all students in class activities.
- Assist in managing students’ behavior and supporting their emotional well-being.
- Help with preparing and adapting teaching materials to meet students’ needs.
- Provide feedback on students’ progress to the class teacher and other professionals.
- Support students in all aspects of their learning, including personal care where necessary.
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience working with children in an SEN or mainstream school setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of various SEN, including autism, dyslexia, ADHD, etc.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, resilience, and a passion for supporting children's learning and development.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to professional development.
- Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other complex needs.
- Experience with strategies for managing behavior and promoting emotional well-being.
