Hays Specialist Recruitment is actively recruiting for full-time Elderly/Adult Support Workers in Barnet, North London. Rate: £12.84 - £14.18 per hour (based on qualification) Shifts: Weekdays, Nights, Weekend. (7 days availability required, 35 hours per week)

Your New Role

  • Providing essential support to adult and elderly residents within residential and retirement homes.
  • Creating a safe and nurturing environment to foster their independence.
  • Engaging in diverse day-to-day activities tailored to their needs.
  • Assisting with household tasks like cooking and cleaning.
  • Supporting in medication management.
  • Building trust and responsibility to accompany them to appointments and activities.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Preferred Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a care setting (adults preferred), and at least one year within the UK. Your chances of success and placement with our clients will increase based on your background experience.
  • Ideal Qualifications: Qualifications such as an NVQ L3 are ideal, NVQ L2 is a must. (Note: Some homes may require or prioritise candidates with specific qualifications. Mandatory training evidence will be requested, and any required modules will be assigned through our online training platform.)
  • Flexibility: We're seeking workers who are as flexible as possible in picking up shifts. We understand your individual needs, such as work, education, and family commitments, and will strive to accommodate them. (Note: Flexibility will be prioritised.)
  • Resilience: This role can be challenging, so a strong will, perseverance, and patience are essential when dealing with difficult situations.
  • Effective Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills are necessary. You'll be responsible for writing in logbooks and potentially preparing reports.
