We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Behaviour Buddy to join our team at a primary school in Barnet. This rewarding role offers you the opportunity to work with students across the primary age group, providing both personal and academic mentoring to help them thrive and succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personal Mentoring: Build positive, supportive relationships with students, offering guidance and emotional support.
  • Academic Support: Assist students with their studies, encouraging progress and boosting confidence across a range of subjects.
  • Behaviour Support: Help students navigate challenging behaviour, using proactive strategies to support them in improving their conduct and engagement.
  • One-to-One & Small Group Work: Work with individual students or small groups to address specific needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and personal development.
  • Collaborative Approach: Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and senior leadership to provide a holistic support system for students.

About You:

  • Experience working with young people, either in a mentoring, support, or educational setting (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
  • Empathetic, patient, and non-judgmental, with a genuine interest in supporting students’ emotional well-being.
  • Confident in providing both academic and behavioural guidance, and able to adapt to the needs of individual students.
  • Resilient and flexible, with the ability to manage challenging situations with professionalism and calm.
