Randstad are recruiting for a Lead Practitioner in Social Work for Adults in the Safeguarding Assessment team located in Barnet, London. This Permanent role is offering a fantastic Salary rate ranging from £42,795.00 - £47,805.00 per annum (also available on locum contract)

Must haves:
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years UK experience working in adult social care as a social worker.
  • Must have experience of supervising or mentoring social worker staff
  • Must have experience of complex case work

Expectation to:
Social Worker Lead Practitioners are expected to deliver the Council's vision of strengths based social care we rely on working closely with our partners and importantly our competent, confident, creative, and caring workforce.

Responsibilities will include:
  • The mentoring and supervision to staff within the team ensuring professional standards and best practice.
  • Ensuring that the responsibility of safeguarding adults at risk is a fundamental element of this job and that the principles are embedded in all procedures, practices, professional advice, decisions and support.
  • Working alongside and when required deputising for the team manager to prompt an environment of a supportive team enabling them and yourself to work with individuals to promote and support independence choice and control with well being at the heart of everything we do.
  • Conducting individual complex assessments and safeguarding enquiries to establish clear, relevant, proportionate, and appropriate options for the individual to meet their identified outcomes.
  • Working in partnership with adults, their families, carers and advocates, colleagues, external organisations to provide appropriate, professional social work support for vulnerable older people, adults with physical and sensory impairment or learning disability and carers
  • We offer a 36 hour a week, hybrid working with a mixture of office and home working, although staff are welcome to be office based full time if they wish.

The minimum requirements for this role are:
  • Social Work England registration
  • Social Work Qualification
  • Enhanced DBS
