About the MH TeamWe are excited to offer a secondment opportunity within our Mental Health Social Work Team (South). This is a fantastic chance to join a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to safeguarding adults, hospital discharge planning, care management, and more. The team works across community and residential settings, undertaking statutory functions and assessments in collaboration with health partners.

About the RoleAs a Social Worker, you will assess and care plan for adults with mental health needs and/or physical disabilities. You will work closely with health partners (BEH Barnet, Enfield, and Haringey Mental Health Trust) and other agencies, undertaking a range of statutory duties under the Care Act and the Mental Health Act 1983. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting person-centred and strengths-based assessments

  • Safeguarding adults at risk and addressing complex needs

  • Collaborating with carers, relatives, and health professionals to develop care plans

  • Undertaking Section 117 aftercare under the Mental Health Act

  • Participating in a supportive, co-productive team environment

About You

  • Relevant Social Work degree and registration with Social Work England

  • Experience working with vulnerable adults

  • Proven track record in social work practice and statutory assessments

  • Ability to produce clear, accurate reports and correspondence

  • Collaborative approach to multi-agency working
