SEN Teaching Assistant | Barnet, NW11 | £90-£105 | Long-Term to Permanent | Immediate Start

LTF Recruitment is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 4 child with Global Developmental Delay and medical needs at a nurturing school in East Finchley. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the child's social, emotional, and academic progress while providing essential medical support throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Year 4 child with Global Delay, ensuring their safety, engagement, and well-being.
  • Assist the child with both their academic work and social skills development, adapting activities to their individual needs.
  • Provide medical support as required, ensuring adherence to the child's care plan.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and healthcare professionals to monitor progress and adjust strategies.
  • Foster a nurturing, inclusive learning environment that encourages the child's independence and participation in school life.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with Global Developmental Delay and/or medical needs.
  • Knowledge of supporting children with special educational needs and adapting learning materials.
  • Confidence in providing medical care as per the child's needs (training will be provided if necessary).
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, liaising with staff and parents to ensure consistent support.
