Salary Scale: £90-£100 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our client schools in Barnet, for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs where boys and girls can find a nurturing, inclusive and vibrant setting to develop their social, creative and academic skills. This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate individual with a genuine passion for supporting SEN students and making a positive impact on their education.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be assisting teachers in providing tailored educational support to ensure all students have equal learning opportunities. You will engage with students in both individual and group settings, focusing on their academic, emotional, and social development.

Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide one-on-one or small-group support for students with SEN
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Help students with their academic, social, and emotional development
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to provide personalised support
  • Monitor and report on student progress

Qualifications for an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience working with SEN students (preferred)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting SEN learners
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols
