Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Teacher to join a wonderful Primary School with a dedicated autism base in Barnet starting in November 2024. This is a full time, long-term role for the full academic year with the chance to gain a permanent contract with the school.

The School:

The autism base is a base for pupils with autism, challenging behaviour from KS2. You will have access to sensory rooms, along with 2 experienced specialist Teaching Assistants.

The base currently houses 10 KS2 pupils and the head strives to ensure the ARP pupils join in with day to day school life and integrate into mainstream classes according to their individual levels of need.

Parking is available on site and the school is also close to the Northern Line, with a range of shops and amenities close by.

As a SEN teacher you will be responsible for the below:

  • Planning and assessing pupils with Autism.
  • Working with the support staff to put in place and run interventions.
  • Support behaviour by following the children's plans
  • Updating and setting targets for children.
  • Working alongside Speech and Language Therapist
