GSL Education London Branch are currently seeking a Food Technology Teacher to join a supportive school in Barnet. Join our team and inspire students through engaging and practical lessons!

                                                         
About the role:
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical lessons in food preparation, nutrition, and healthy eating, tailored to students' diverse needs. You will foster a supportive learning environment, assess student progress, and promote essential life skills in cooking and food safety.

Responsibilities of the Food Technology Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver creative and interactive Food Technology lessons that cater to the needs of students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for cooking and nutrition.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Food Technology curriculum and contribute to a positive school culture.
  • Participate in school events and activities to promote student engagement and community involvement.

Requirements of the Food Technology Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Food Technology and experience teaching in a secondary school setting.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
