Service Development and Support Officer - Barnsley - Local Authority

We are partnering with a Local Authority to appoint a Service Development and Support Officer to join their dedicated team.

As a Service Development and Support Officer, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative and business support to Independent Reviewing Officers and CP Conference Chairs. Your tasks will include taking and distributing minutes from various meetings, arranging and rescheduling meetings, sending out invitations, and supporting with travel arrangements.

Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Administrative Support: Under-take administrative tasks to facilitate the day-to-day operations of the Children's Safeguarding and Reviewing Service.

Efficiently handle tasks such as taking and distributing minutes from various meetings, arranging and rescheduling meetings, and sending out invitations.

  • Business Support: Provide crucial business support to Independent Reviewing Officers and CP Conference Chairs.

Assist in coordinating and organizing the logistics of important meetings and conferences.

  • IT Skills: Utilise solid IT skills to manage and process administrative tasks effectively.

Ensure proficiency in relevant software and tools required for administrative and support functions.

  • Communication: Engage in direct (face-to-face) and indirect (telephone calls, Teams calls, and emails) communication with family members and carers. Demonstrate excellent communication skills to convey information and provide support.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in children's social care or a public service setting is desirable.
  • Ability to undertake direct (face-to-face) and indirect (telephone calls, Teams calls, and emails) contact with stakeholders.
