Here in Barnsley, we’re seeking a Facilities Operative to join our team, collaborating with our customer, ASOS. You’ll provide a multi-skilled service, undertaking various tasks to meet legislative, company, site, and exacting standards.

You'll be working on a shift pattern of 'any 5 out of 7', with rotating shifts. This means you'll work the following schedule: 1st week: 05:30-14:00, 2nd week: 08:00-16:30 and 3rd week: 10:30-19:00.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £24,840 per annum, and 264 hours annual leave (inclusive bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Complete Pre Planned Maintenance tasks as dictated by the Facilities schedule

  • Update Facilities Digital Management System with completed tasks and any additional tasks that you deem necessary

  • Assist in Project work around site as dictated by the Facilities Manager

  • Always ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation e.g., to have due regard for HASAWA, COSHH and Electricity at Work Regulations and to recommend remedial actions as necessary in these areas

  • Complete Reactive Maintenance tasks from Works requests

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Previous experience within facilities or maintenance

  • Health and Safety experience, including IOSH Managing Safely certification

  • Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, and heating systems

  • A Level 2 qualification in a related field (such as Facilities Maintenance, Construction, etc.) or 3 years of proven experience

  • Basic level of ability in the use of PC based applications including BMS, MMS and Excel
