Overview
Russell Taylor are seeking additional class 1 drivers to work for Distribution client based in Barnsley.

The role will involve the delivery of good to various establishments. This could involve a trunk run or a small number of drops.

Start times for this role vary but will generally be between 0400-1200 daily. the pay for this role is £15.00 PAYE for work Monday to Friday, £16.00 for any Saturday work, £17.00 for Sunday.

If drivers want to do nights out, this may be accommodated and paid at £25.00 per night out.

Drivers must have at least 6 months experience and be able to use a tail lift.

Duties

  • Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition and report any maintenance issues.
  • Load and secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit.
  • Deliver goods to designated locations while following planned routes and schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery status and any potential delays.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations while on the road.

Experience

  • Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Valid CE licence with an in date CPC and Digi card.
  • Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods.
  • Ability to navigate using GPS systems and maps effectively.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of customer service throughout the delivery process.
