Russell Taylor are seeking Class 1 Drivers for a client based in Barnsley. the role is varied role and drivers will be expected to work across multiple contracts whether that be curtain side or fridge work.
The pay for this role is £15.00 Mon to Friday with start times around 0600.
Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles for the transportation of goods in a safe manner.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe working order before commencing deliveries.
- Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Load and unload goods safely, ensuring that all items are secured properly during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required by company policy.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to health and safety standards at all times while on the road and during loading/unloading activities.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a valid HGV Class 1 licence.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines.
