CNC Laser Operative

My client in the Doncaster area of South Yorkshire are looking for an experienced CNC Laser Operative.

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Laser Operative to join our team on day shift. This role involves operating advanced Trumpf laser machinery, including tube and flatbed lasers, to cut sections, beams, and other materials with precision and accuracy. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with laser machinery and a strong understanding of operating in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
Operate Tube Lasers: Work with a Trumpf 6kW tube laser (12m input / 6m output), primarily cutting sections and beams (typically 236mm diameter or 100mm square).
Operate Flatbed Lasers: Utilize a Trumpf 12kW flatbed laser for cutting various materials, working with sheet sizes such as 4x2m and 6x2.5m.
Material Processing: Focus on cutting sections and beams rather than rounds, ensuring precise cuts and maintaining high standards of quality.
Machine Setup and Calibration: Prepare and configure laser machines to meet job requirements, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Quality Assurance:
Perform inspections of completed workpieces to ensure they meet customer and production specifications.

Maintenance:
Carry out routine maintenance on laser equipment and promptly report any technical issues.
Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety procedures, ensuring a clean and safe working environment at all times.

Key Requirements
Previous experience as a laser operative, preferably with Trumpf laser machines.
Proficiency in operating both tube and flatbed lasers.
Strong attention to detail and a focus on producing high-quality results.
Experience working with sections and beams rather than round materials is an advantage.
Knowledge of machine setup, calibration, and routine maintenance.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a manufacturing setting.
Flexibility and reliability to work night shifts on a permanent basis.
