Are you passionate about nutrition and patient care? Barnsley NHS Foundation Trust are currently seeking a Band 5 Dietitian to join the dietetics team at Barnsley Hospital.

You will be a key member of the Dietetic Team, delivering high-quality nutritional care to patients across various settings. You will be responsible for providing specialist dietetic advice, supporting both inpatient and outpatient services, and working alongside a multidisciplinary team to enhance the health and well-being of the local community.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide specialist dietetic advice and interventions for patients requiring complex dietary treatment, adapting plans based on individual needs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and patients to create and evaluate nutrition education resources, ensuring clear communication of complex nutritional information.
  • Respond to queries on diet and nutrition from healthcare professionals, the public, and media.
  • Organise, plan, and deliver nutrition education sessions to healthcare professionals, patients, carers, and the general public.
  • Participate in audits, service development, and policy-making within the department.
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive records in line with Trust policies and professional standards.
  • Work closely with the Dietetic Manager and the wider Dietetic Team to ensure cohesive service delivery.

To be successful in this role you must:

  • Degree in Dietetics and current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex nutritional information in an understandable way.
  • Strong team player, able to work collaboratively with colleagues across different disciplines.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and adapt to the unpredictable nature of the role.
  • A commitment to professional development and evidence-based practice.
