Teaching Assistant for SEMH Provision Are you passionate about supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team at our SEMH Provision. This role involves working closely with students aged 9 to 16 who require additional support in their educational journey. Role Overview:Position: Teaching Assistant Location: Barnsley Contract Type: Full Time Salary: £77 - £90

Responsibilities: As a Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide Classroom Support: Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons, adapting materials, and ensuring a positive learning environment. Individualised Support: Work closely with students, understanding their unique needs, and providing targeted assistance during class activities. Behaviour Management: Implement behaviour management strategies, promoting positive interactions and emotional regulation. Small Group Work: Facilitate small group sessions, reinforcing learning objectives and building students confidence. Collaborate with Staff: Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a holistic approach to student development.

Requirements: Experience: Previous experience working with SEMH students or in alternative education settings is advantageous. Empathy: Ability to connect with students, demonstrating patience and understanding. Adaptability: Flexibility in responding to individual needs and adjusting teaching methods accordingly. Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive school culture. Enhanced DBS Check: Successful candidates will undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
