Role Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working in similar environments and will be adept at managing challenging behavior in a calm and effective manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering tailored educational programs.
- Assist in managing classroom behavior and implementing behavior management strategies.
- Provide one-on-one support to pupils with SEMH needs.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with other staff members to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in an SEMH setting.
- Strong understanding of SEMH needs and strategies to support pupils.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
