We are looking for Teaching Assistants to join us on a supply basis in Barnsley (short and long term opportunities).

At Academics, our passion for education and our commitment to creating an inspiring learning environment is at our core. We are looking for talented individuals to join our team of dedicated and enthusiastic teaching assistants.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing valuable support to teachers in the classroom, helping to ensure every child reaches his or her full potential. This is a varied role and your duties will vary based on the needs of each class or school.

You will be expected to:

  • Support teachers in encouraging children to reach their potential
  • Help create a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Assist in classroom management.
  • Monitor students' behaviour and interact with them;
  • Prepare teaching materials and resources.
  • Work with a range of abilities and use appropriate teaching techniques.
  • Assist children with basic needs, participate in playground activities and look after their well-being.

Ideally, you will have a level 3 qualification in teaching or equivalent, experience working in a similar role and an excellent understanding of the national curriculum.

You will be a patient, encouraging and motivated individual, with excellent communication and organisational skills. You must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of working as part of a dedicated team, have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate experience of effectively teaching individuals and groups.
