I am currently recruiting on behalf of a key client based in South Yorkshire who require a skilled Electrical Controls Engineer to support a major project on an initial 6-month contract. Our client provides full project lifecycle design, manufacture & installation within medium to heavy engineering industries UK wide.

For the position of Electrical Controls Engineer, you will conduct the following daily duties:

  • Design & program PLC / HMI / SCADA systems primarily using Siemens TIA Portal
  • Design of electrical control systems and panels and PLC control systems
  • Production of FDS / SDS
  • Prepare estimates, design & tender specifications
  • Attend client & sub-contractor meetings providing technical knowledge
  • Producing all associated documentation

The successful Electrical Controls Engineer will need to have the following attributes:

  • Strong appreciation for controls systems, design & programming using Siemens TIA Portal
  • Hands on experience within heavy engineering & materials handling ideally within Nuclear
  • Experience in full project life cycle from initial design
  • Ability to produce & manages RAMS
  • Strong problem solving & communication skills, working closely with client & suppliers
  • Working to electrical equipment machinery standards, and electrical installations (such as BS EN 60204 & BS7671).
