Employment Advisor

- Hourly Rate: £14.17 PAYE or £17.42 via Umbrella
We are seeking an Employment Advisor to support the operational delivery of high-quality, impartial IAG in communities across the Borough. This role involves delivering community-based information, advice, and guidance activities and interventions, supporting adults and young people in preparing for work, getting into work, and progressing in their careers.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Identify and assess the holistic needs and barriers of adults and young people, recording results using contract-compliant and quality-assured mechanisms to provide a baseline for measuring progress and achievement.
- Prepare clear and concise person-centred SMART Action Plans, reviewing them regularly to ensure both qualitative and quantitative data can be extracted, in one-to-one sessions and group sessions both on-site and in outreach locations as appropriate.
- Facilitate effective and efficient job search activities relevant to the skills and abilities of the individual and their proximity to the labour market.
- Support, motivate, facilitate, and direct individuals experiencing barriers to employment to engage in relevant activities and interventions which support their progression to education, employment, and training.
- Demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of the local labour market to inform planning of or referral to relevant interventions or activities which ensure adult/young person’s progress towards, into, and sustained employment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working with adults and young people, supporting them to develop resilience and motivation.
- Experience engaging adults and young people who have experienced barriers and challenges.
- Experience preparing individual SMART Action Plans in the context of skills and employability.
- Experience undertaking and utilising a range of assessment approaches and resources to identify an individual’s needs.
- Experience providing information and advice relating to volunteering, education, training, employment, health, and welfare.
- Proficiency in using a range of resources and packages to meet the differing requirements of programs.
