Cover Supervisor

Location: Barnsley, South Yorkshire
Salary: £94 - £115 per day (depending on experience)

Are you passionate about education and eager to gain valuable classroom experience? GSL Education is looking for enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools in Barnsley. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced educators looking to make a real difference. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply.

• Supervise whole classes during teacher absences, ensuring students stay engaged and on task.

• Deliver pre-planned lesson materials across various subjects.

• Maintain positive classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

• Provide support and guidance to students as needed.

• Monitor and record student progress, reporting back to teaching staff.

• Assist with classroom resources and lesson preparation.

• Experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar educational role (desirable).

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Confidence in managing secondary school students.

• A proactive and adaptable approach to classroom management.

• A passion for education and inspiring young learners.

• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
