About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will play a vital role in ensuring students continue their learning in the absence of their regular teachers. You will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons across various subjects at Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring students remain engaged and on track. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain classroom experience, develop strong behaviour management skills and contribute to students' academic progress.
Cover Supervisor (CS) Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage classrooms, ensuring students stay focused on their learning.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans across a range of subjects at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Encourage student participation and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, following school policies and procedures.
- Provide support and guidance to students where required.
- Report any concerns or student progress to teaching staff and school leadership.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive classroom environment for all students.
Cover Supervisor (CS) Requirements: To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor with secondary-aged students is highly desirable (this could be in a school setting, tutoring, coaching, youth work, or mentoring).
- Strong classroom management skills and the confidence to lead a class independently.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A degree or relevant qualification is desirable but not essential.
- A genuine passion for education and supporting student development.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
