GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor (CS) to join a dynamic school in Barnsleyto make a difference and foster a love for learning.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will play a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of education for students. You will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring that students remain engaged and on task.
Key Responsibilities of Cover Supervisor (CS):
- Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers.
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure students remain engaged and on task.
- Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
- Support students in their learning and aid as needed.
- Monitor and record students’ progress and provide feedback to teachers.
- Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
Requirements of Cover Supervisor (CS):
- Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar role is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Applicable for secondary schools, especially for KS3 and KS4.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A genuine passion for education and supporting young adults.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.

To work with GSL Education as a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will need:
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Be able to provide a ten-year career history with relevant reference details covering the last two years, including your most recent place of academic employment.
- Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
