Estimator job in Barnsley, £40,000 - £50,000 per annum DOE, permanent contract

Your New CompanyHays are pleased to be assisting this family run contractor in Barnsley with the recruitment of an Estimator to join their busy team.The company work with some of the largest housebuilders across Yorkshire and projects range from £100k to £3m. They are a small business with a very close-knit team and are looking for someone to join them who can be hands-on and part of their great culture. They have long-serving staff and a very low turnover, which speaks volumes for this contractor. This is your chance to be part of this growing organisation and progress your estimating career. Your New RoleYou will work closely with clients to establish their requirements, set up the estimate structure within estimating software and inputting of all labour, material and subcontract elements, complete site surveys as well as negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best prices.You will be finalising costs with the Commercial Manager and preparing tender submissions including offer letters, qualifications, considerations and supporting documentation, ensuring compliance with tender return deadlines and follow-up tenders to secure projects.What You'll Need To SucceedYou will have previous experience in a similar role with a strong knowledge of installation methods with the ability to read drawings and specifications, excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills, as well as strong numerical, written communication and presentation skills.However, this role could also be suited to an experienced plumber who is looking to take the next step off the tools into an office-based role. What You'll Get In ReturnThis role is offered with a salary between £40,000 - £50,000 per annum on a permanent contract. Benefits include:
