Salary Range: £94 - £115 per day (Depending on experience)
Start time: ASAP
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

If so, GSL Education are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming school in Barnsley. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting young learners and a commitment to helping every child succeed.

Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant:

• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and delivery, ensuring students are supported in their learning.
• Work with individual students or small groups to provide targeted support and interventions.
• Help maintain a positive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages learning and development.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher to adapt learning strategies as needed.
• Support the social and emotional development of students, promoting positive behaviour and interactions.
• Assist with the supervision of students during activities, such as lunch, playtime, and school trips.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure cohesive support for students' educational goals.
• Uphold and follow school policies, including safeguarding and health and safety procedures.

Requirements of the Teaching Assistant:

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational support role.
• Knowledge of the curriculum and effective teaching support strategies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Patience, empathy, and an understanding of how to support children’s individual needs.
• A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate) is desirable but not essential.
• Commitment to professional development and the ability to adapt to new teaching techniques and practices.
• Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
• Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
