Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Short Breaks Children's Support Officer to join their Children's Services Department on an initial 3 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The Role:

Barnsley Children's disability service are seeking a short break support worker. The main duties of this role willbe undertaking short break assessments for children & their families, developing & reviewing short break packages, providing children's social care advice for EHCneed assessments, attendance at the short break panel and the completion of decision support tools for continuing health care applications.

Those who have experience of family support work within children's services or SEND are an ideal candidate and training and shadowing opportunities will be provided to ensure the preferred candidate has the support in place they need to fulfil the role.

Barnsley support their staff to work flexibly, but the core hours for this role are 9 - 5 Monday to Friday (4.30 finish on a Friday).

Requirements

  • Experience of working in a Family Support Worker or Children with Disabilities Setting
  • Ability to undertake short breaks assessments for Children with Disabilities
  • Enhanced DBS Check
