Sellick Partnership is proud to be working with Barnsley Council's exceptional legal services team in the heart of South Yorkshire. We are looking for a Planning and Highways Lawyer to join their growing legal team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a large team on a permanent basis and take on some really exciting work.

Key responsibilities of the Planning and Highways Lawyer role:

  • Manage your own caseload of the planning and highway matters.
  • Able to work autonomously on your own matters; in particular schedule 106 agreements.
  • Advising on section 279 matters.
  • Dealing with planning enforcement matters.
  • Advising on statutory reviews of decision if planning inspectorate.
  • Undertaking planning committee work.
  • To continue to build relationships with existing clients and also seek out avenues for building on new business for the service.

Experience required for the Planning and Highways Lawyer role:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive.
  • Candidates will need to have previous experience within planning law from either a private practice or public sector setting.
