Your New RoleHays Logistics are currently looking for an Interim Transport Manager for a 6-month contract to start immediately. You will be an experienced Transport Manager who holds a CPC and will be based at one of 2 offices in either Goole or Barnsley.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the transport department.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate and optimise the scheduling and routing of vehicles.
- Monitor and manage transport budgets, costs, and performance metrics.
- Lead and support a team of drivers and transport staff.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
- Implement and maintain health and safety standards within the transport department.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience as a Transport Manager or in a similar role.
- CPC National or International qualification.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in transport management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work in either Goole or Barnsley as required.
