Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Location: Barnsley

Shift Pattern: Continental (12 hour shifts)

Salary: £47,000 plus + OT + bonus based on company performance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day project works, preventative maintenance, and breakdowns.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the technical team to learn the functions of all machines.
  • Conduct mechanical tasks such as drilling, tapping, dies, files, measurements, bearings, ultrasonic welders, pneumatic cylinders, gearboxes, etc.
  • Operate machinery in the workshop, including surface grinders, lathes, millers, pillar drills, grinders, pedestal grinders, and hydraulic presses.
  • Read and understand various electrical schematic drawings.
  • Understand different types of circuits and components (3-phase, single phase, 24v).

Qualifications & Skills:

  • GCSE’s or equivalent.
  • HNC/HND is preferred but not essential.
  • Minimum level 3 BETEC in engineering.
  • Experience in fault finding.
  • Experience in using workshop machinery.

Requirements:

  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
