Elevation Recruitments Design & Projects team are seeking a skilled and experienced Design Engineer to join our clients dynamic technical division in 2025. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of products, with a strong emphasis on automotive, sheet metal, fabrication and CNC work. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in SolidWorks and have a strong understanding of design across a range of components. 

Design Engineer Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-quality components and systems using SolidWorks.

  • Work across multiple industries, including but not limited too automotive and industrial engineering.

  • Develop and refine sheet metal and CNC machined components from concept through to production.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are production-ready and cost-effective.

  • Utilize best practices in design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).

  • Reverse engineering parts and components and/or 3D printing experience would be preferred but not essential.

  • Support prototyping and testing processes, including the potential use of 3D printing technologies.

Design Engineer Key Requirements:

  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks with a proven track record in mechanical design.

  • Extensive experience in sheet metal fabrication and CNC machined components (beneficial)

  • Understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering tolerances.

  • Ability to interpret and produce technical drawings, models, and specifications.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication skills to liaise with production teams, suppliers, and clients.

  • Experience with 3D printing and reverse engineering from 3D scans (desirable but not essential).

  • A background in motorsport, automotive, or industrial equipment industries is advantageous.
