Key Responsibilities:- Laboratory Preparation: Assist in the preparation of practical science lessons, ensuring all materials and equipment are ready for use.
- Equipment Maintenance: Regularly maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring that all tools and apparatus are in excellent working condition.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all laboratory activities comply with health and safety regulations, including the correct storage and disposal of chemicals.
- Support Teaching Staff: Work closely with science teachers to support the delivery of engaging and effective science lessons.
- Inventory Management: Keep an accurate record of stock levels, ordering supplies as needed to maintain an efficient and well-resourced lab environment.
- Student Assistance: Provide guidance and support to students during practical lessons, helping them to safely and effectively conduct experiments.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a similar role within a school or educational setting is essential.
- Qualifications: A background in science, ideally with a relevant qualification such as a degree in a scientific discipline or a BTEC in Applied Science.
- Skills: Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. A sound understanding of laboratory safety protocols is crucial.
