Positive Engagement Coach

Hours: 37 hours per week (term time only)

Are you passionate about fostering participation and inclusion for students? Do you have a knack for leading engaging activities and supporting children who may struggle in traditional classroom settings?

We are working in Partnership with a Specialist academy who are looking to recruit a dedicated Positive Engagement Coach to join our team and make a significant impact on our students' experiences and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion student participation and inclusion through a variety of games and activities tailored to meet the needs of pupils.
  • Develop and deliver activities, courses, campaigns, and events to enhance student engagement and participation.
  • Lead activities that support children who are unable to access their classroom learning.
  • Apply specialist knowledge to help maintain a calm, productive environment and support positive behaviour.
  • Utilize a range of strategies to support self-regulation and de-escalation in line with school policies.
  • Work closely with teachers and instructors to create and implement engaging activities.
  • Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues, and foster a supportive school atmosphere.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualification in a relevant area.
  • Proven experience in planning and leading engaging activities for children and young people.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one.
  • Ability to research, plan, and lead activities that support children in an SEMH special school setting.
  • Provide a secure base for children, helping them regulate emotions and maintain positive relationships.
