Service Care Solutions have a vacancy for a Waste Refuse Driver to join a local authority in South Yorkshire on a temporary basis with an immediate start available.

This is a Driving based Vacancy where the candidate will be covering the borough on a daily rota collecting residential and commercial waste.


Key duties for this vacancy will include:

  1. To ensure vehicles are road-worthy before, during and after each shift.
  2. Carry out safety checks as detailed in the drivers' log books.
  3. Complete drivers log books fully and truthfully.
  4. Report defects and accidents immediately.
  5. Carry out tasks as assigned, including loading of goods, waste and any other item that needs transporting.
  6. To sort and recycle loads where appropriate.
  7. To carry out cleaning duties as required in times of need.
  8. Clean the vehicle (inside and out) at least every two weeks or as directed.
  9. To attend training sessions organised by supervisory staff and to use new equipment after training, and to carry out new methods or procedures as and when directed.
  10. To be responsible for the security of all vehicles under the employee's control.
  11. Carry out all duties with due regard to:
    1. Health and Safety at Work Act
    2. The Council's Equality and Diversity Policy


For this position, you will hold a Full UK Driving License including a Category C Driving License.

A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position as a Driver is ideal.
