Bennett and Game are working alongside a well-established company who offer quality service and solutions in palletised freight as well as distribution services. The client is actively seeking to bring in a Transport Planner with Pallet Network experience in their site based in Barnsley.
Pallet Network Transport Planner Position Overview
- Plan local daily collections, deliveries and night trunking for pallet network vehicles including hazardous goods ADR shipments using Mandata Traffic Management System [TMS]
- 11 local daily vehicles and 4-night trunks (Mon-Fri)
- Upload and download job links to and from pallet networks and Mandata TMS
- Create manifests and routing labels
- Liaise with despatch warehouse supervisors on loads
- Comply with delivery requirements whilst ensuring vehicles operate efficiently
- Liaise with customers, by email and telephone, attending to any special requirements
- Book in consignments
- Delivery follow up using vehicle tracking software e.g. checking eta's
- Ensure vehicles are not overloaded
- Ensure compliance with CDG requirements and segregation rules are adhered to
- Resolve problems on deliveries such as damages, late arrival, driver issues
- Resolve staffing issues, e.g. driver no show
- Assist in a breakdown situation and re-schedule loads as necessary
Promote effective communication to ensure agreed service levels are achieved
Pallet Network Transport Planner Position Requirements
- Proven transport planning experience
- Experience of pallet networks an advantage
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good attention to detail
Pallet Network Transport Planner Position Remuneration
Salary - 25K - 30K+ (Dependant on experience)
Working Days - Monday - Friday - Rotating Pattern
AM Pattern - 6AM - 1:30PM
PM Pattern - 12:30 - 8PM
