A leading UK Contractor is seeking a Roofer for social housing projects in Barnsley, offering a salary between £32,000 and £35,000 plus a van and fuel card.
The role is permanent and involves working on repairs and maintenance in occupied properties, providing an opportunity to develop skills across various trades.
Candidates must have proven experience as a roofer in social housing or a similar environment, along with an NVQ level 2 in roofing or equivalent CSCS card and Asbestos Awareness certification.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations, experience with job scheduling software, and a willingness to undergo a DBS check are also required.
The position offers long-term stability, 22 days of paid holiday plus bank holidays, employer pension contributions, and opportunities for progression into supervisory and management roles.

Here at Howells, we are working with a leading UK Contractor to find a Roofer with sufficient knowledge of other trades to join their team in Barnsley, to work in occupied properties doing repairs & maintenance.

Working the Social Housing sector, you will have the exciting opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge by tackling a variety of repairs/maintenance in social housing properties. Your duties will include various roofing repairs and minor carpentry/guttering when needed.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

Proven experience as a roofer in social housing or similar environment. Knowledge of NHF Sors desirable
Must hold NVQ level 2 in roofing or equivilent CSCS card and Asbestos Awareness cert
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance.
Experience using a PDA, good IT skills with experience using job scheduling software
Willingness to undertake a DBS check - with no unspent criminal convictions
Full, UK, manual driving license
