Neighbourhood Officer

- Salary: £15.78 PAYE / £19.48 Umbrella
Join our Neighbourhood Teams in a vital front-line position as a Neighbourhood Officer. You will be instrumental in delivering a proactive, reassuring, and customer-focused tenancy and estate management service, making a significant impact on our customers and the communities we manage.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Deliver a highly visible, effective, and proactive tenancy and neighbourhood management service.
- Address and escalate breaches of tenancy regulations promptly and in accordance with procedures, including handling Anti-Social Behaviour within relevant timescales using appropriate interventions.
- Manage day-to-day patch-based void management of properties, collaborating with partners and teams to ensure properties are let swiftly to meet performance targets.
- Conduct welcome visits for new tenants within agreed timescales to communicate obligations, offering practical support and advice, and directing them to further resources as needed.
- Identify customer vulnerabilities including safeguarding concerns through support checklists, risk assessments, and appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate with the Lettings Service on the assessment of applications to the Housing Waiting List and the effective operation of the Lettings Policy.
- Engage with community groups and representatives to establish local priorities (e.g., Tenants and Resident Associations, community groups).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 / BTEC National Certificate or equivalent, or relevant experience/transferable skills (desirable).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with residents and colleagues.
- Experience in social housing, including estate management, tenancy management, or community safety-related work.
- Proven ability to use initiative and work to deadlines to achieve targets.
- Understanding of community issues and current housing issues.
- Ability to travel as necessary to meet the needs of the post.
