SEND Support Practitioner

South Barnsley

Full Time (Monday - Friday)

Fixed Term Contract until end of July 2025, with potential for extension

Immediate Start

£23,636 FTE

The role will be supporting a tutor for two days and then directly supporting the skills practice of students (either in hospitality or catering) for the other days. The week, as it is laid out, will have all students in Mon/Tues and then the practical sessions will have 4 students each day across Wed - Friday (so 12 students in all).

Requirements

  • Maths and English GCSE, or equivalent.
  • Recent experience working with young people (aged 16+) with neurodiversity, such as Autism, in education/welfare to work and certain social care settings (not healthcare)
  • A good understanding of barriers to learning and employment for people with neurodiversity and mental health issues such as anxiety.
  • Immediate full-time availability.
  • DBS on the update service, or the willingness to apply for one.
