We are seeking an Advanced Social Worker to carry a workload of high complexity, demonstrating exemplary practice with a degree of autonomy. This role involves championing best practice, leading practice development forums, and contributing to service improvement and delivery. You will work collaboratively with service users and their families to assess needs and plan and deliver services, ensuring participation and effective communication in complex situations.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Work in partnership with children and families to elicit their needs and views, promoting participation in decision-making.
  • Ensure that the team meets statutory responsibilities and maintains quality practice standards in delivering services to children and young people.
  • Undertake and provide expertise in specialist assessments and interventions, acting as a resource to others within the organisation.
  • Manage a complex workload with autonomy, developing a network for advice, expertise, and practice development.
  • Use supervision for effective practice, reflection, and career development, meeting Professional Development Review objectives.
  • Provide professional supervision and support to staff, including induction, newly qualified social workers, and students.
  • Promote and lead a culture of learning within the team and wider service.
  • Participate and lead in project and development work to promote innovation and excellence.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to the evaluation and analysis of recording systems to inform good practice and positive outcomes.
  • Model effective assessment and management of risk in complex situations, including positive risk-taking approaches.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced team members.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Relevant Degree in Social Work or equivalent, with registration with the HCPC.
  • Higher Degree and Professional Social Work Qualification preferred.
  • Significant post-qualification experience in a statutory social work role (minimum of 4 years).
  • Experience in practice development, providing supervision/coaching/mentoring.
  • Ability to work with children, young people, and families in a multi-agency context.
  • Ability to analyse information and plan interventions with minimum support.
