Specialist Youth Justice Practitioner

Job Type: Full-time (Flexible working arrangements considered) temp via Reed Health and Care

Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Specialist Youth Justice Practitioner to join our team. This unique role involves providing specialist assessments and interventions to children and their families across the spectrum of children’s services, aiming to prevent entry into the criminal justice system wherever possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct AIM3 assessments and provide evidence-based interventions for children and young people displaying harmful sexual behaviour.
  • Write high-quality, analytical assessments for courts and other professional arenas, conveying the complexity of risk, safety, and support needs.
  • Work therapeutically with children and their families, planning and delivering tailored interventions to address complex needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with interprofessional and interagency teams to achieve the best outcomes for children and their families.
  • Perform direct work with children and their families, including home visits.

Minimum Requirements:

  • AIM3 assessment training and demonstrable evidence of recent knowledge and experience working with children and young people displaying harmful sexual behaviour.
  • Qualification in social work, youth work, youth justice, counselling, or other therapeutic professions.
  • Proven ability to write high-quality, analytical assessments for courts and other professional arenas.
  • Recent experience working therapeutically with children and their families who have displayed harmful sexual behaviour and have complex needs.
  • Driving licence and access to a car.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Social work qualification.
  • Experience in youth work, youth justice, early help, counselling, or other therapeutic professions.
