Role: Field IT Engineer Location: BarnsleySalary: £24,000+Contract: Term time only/ Permanent  About the Role:Verus Recruitment is supporting a leading Managed Service Provider based in Leeds, seeking a dedicated Field IT Engineer to join their team.  The role would be for a technician that visits sites on an ad hoc basis to complete field-based IT jobs.Role Overview:As a Field IT Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and infrastructure. You will be the primary point of contact for all technical issues and will work closely to provide timely and effective solutions. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about using technology to enhance education.Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues within school premises.
  • Regularly inspect, maintain, and repair computer equipment, including desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals, to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Set up and configure new computer systems, software applications, and network devices as needed.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical problems with computers, laptops, tablets, printers, projectors, and other classroom technology equipment.
  • Work closely with teachers to ensure teaching and learning runs smoothly.
 Requirements:
  • Previous experience in an IT position within an education or MSP environment.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking concepts.
  • Qualification/certification in IT or a related field.
  • Good communication skills with a strong passion for supporting others.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full clean driving license.
  • Clear DBS check.
