SEMH HLTA (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Location: Doncaster Job Type: Full-time Salary: £100 - 120Prospero Teaching are seeking a dedicated SEMH HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) with a passion for supporting secondary age students within an SEN provision. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience working with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs and possess strong behaviour management skills. Day-to-day of the role: Provide tailored support to secondary age students with SEMH needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively. Work collaboratively with teachers to plan and deliver educational activities. Implement behaviour management strategies to create a safe and positive learning environment. Assist in monitoring and evaluating students progress, both academically and socially. Facilitate small group sessions and one-to-one support to address individual needs. Contribute to the preparation of teaching materials and resources. Support the schools SEN policies and contribute to the development of students Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience as an HLTA, specifically within SEMH or SEN settings. Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH needs. Excellent behaviour management skills and strategies. Ability to build rapport with secondary age students and adapt to their individual learning requirements. A collaborative team player who can also work independently. Relevant HLTA qualification or equivalent. Commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of SEN education.
