Join a vibrant team in a primary school in Barnsley as an SEN Teaching Assistant and help shape the future of the students!About the Role:Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a friendly and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a primary school at the heart of the local community. The successful candidate will work on a 121 basis with a pupil in Year 2 with SEN.
The role is a part-time position from Monday to Friday each week. The hours will be 8.30am-3.30pm on 2 days, and 8.30am-12.30pm for 3 days.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in Planning and Delivery: Work closely with teachers to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons.
- Support Pupils: Provide tailored support to individual pupils or small groups, ensuring every child reaches their full potential.
- Classroom Management: Help manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
- Assessment and Feedback: Assist in assessing pupils' work and providing constructive feedback to support their progress.
- Extra-Curricular Activities: Participate in and sometimes lead extra-curricular activities and school events.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to continually improve your skills and knowledge.
- Essential:
- Prior experience working with SEN
- Experience working in a primary school or young people setting.
- Understanding of the KS1 national curriculum.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Desirable:
- Additional qualifications or training relevant to primary education.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Experience in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN).
- Passionate: A genuine enthusiasm for working with children and helping them succeed.
- Patient: Able to manage challenging behaviour calmly and effectively.
- Creative: Innovative in your approach to teaching and able to inspire young learners.
