We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant specialising in autism to join our team at SEN schools in Barnsley. This role involves supporting students with special educational needs (SEN), particularly those on the autism spectrum, to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with autism, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with SEN students, particularly those with autism.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN and autism (e.g., CACHE Level 3, TEACCH, PECS).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
