About the Role:

As a Supply SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll have the opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and other complex needs. You'll work across a variety of primary, secondary, and specialist SEN schools in Barnsley, helping students to thrive in their learning environments. This is a perfect role if you're looking for flexibility, whether you want to work part-time or full-time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to pupils with special educational needs
  • Adapt teaching materials and resources to meet individual needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to deliver tailored learning experiences
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and provide emotional support
  • Encourage pupil independence and boost confidence in the classroom
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, ideally in a school setting
  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3) is preferred but not essential
  • A passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Flexibility to work in different settings and adapt to varied student needs
  • A valid DBS on the update service (or be willing to obtain one)
