Disrepair Surveyor

Reed is exclusively recruiting on behalf of a leading housing provider for a Disrepair Surveyor. This is a hybrid role that offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to the maintenance and improvement of housing standards. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in building pathology and a strong track record in managing disrepair cases, particularly within the context of Section 11 remedials.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Conduct thorough inspections and surveys of properties to assess and document existing or potential disrepair.
- Ensure compliance with Section 11 of the Landlord and Tenant Act regarding housing disrepair and building pathology.
- Oversee on-site works, providing technical advice and ensuring that all repairs and remedials are carried out correctly.
- Sign off on completed works, ensuring they meet all required standards and regulations.
- Liaise with contractors, tenants, and other stakeholders to coordinate repair schedules and address any concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, works carried out, and sign-offs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Disrepair Surveyor or in a similar role within the housing sector.
- Strong knowledge of building pathology and remedials related to housing disrepair.
- Familiarity with Section 11 of the Landlord and Tenant Act.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, capable of effectively coordinating with contractors and communicating with tenants.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
