W Talent Manufacturing are supporting a growing manufacturing company based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire who are now looking to recruit a Maintenance Supervisor. My client is dedicated to delivering quality products to its UK and Irish based customers and has recently gone through a small expansion plan at the Barnsley manufacturing site.
As the new Maintenance Supervisor or Lead Maintenance Engineer, you will be tasked in improving machinery performance with a view of becoming more proactive via the PPM system. Additionally, you will drive total preventative maintenance programs and managing breakdowns across electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
Position Overview
I'm keen to connect with Maintenance Supervisors or ambitious Lead Engineers ready to take the next step into a management role. This opportunity is open to candidates with either a mechanical or electrical bias, as you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining and optimizing all manufacturing equipment and site services at our Barnsley facility. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the upkeep of facilities, layout, and machinery to ensure maximum efficiency and output.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for planned scheduling and overseeing the adherence and timely completion of work carried out.
- Increase the site operational effectiveness, improve on project delivery, mean time between failure and downtime reduction.
- Manage and implement improvement plans, driving Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
- Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.
- Assist in new mechanical installations including commissioning of equipment related to onsite projects while carrying out planned maintenance routines.
- Carry out safety inspections of equipment including gas, steam and pipework to comply with the company health and safety policy.
- Ensure compliance with company and legislative health and safety policies, procedures, and standards always.
- Provide support and advice to other engineers and production managers where appropriate.
Key Requirements:
