A fantastic school we support is seeking to appoint a dedicated, passionate and empathetic education support worker to join their close-knit team. Our school provides high-quality, individualised and small group learning for up to 60 pupils aged 7-19.

About the school:

  • Based across 2 sites (Barnstaple and Bideford)

  • Students have associated special educational needs and barriers to learning, including SEMH, ADHD, autism and aspergers

  • Huge focus on social and emotional development

  • Students have individualised timetables and opportunity to engage in a range of enrichment opportunities

  • Students in on a full- or part-time basis

  • Learning takes place in small groups or on a 1:1 basis

  • Offer of an employee wellbeing programme to support you

About the role:

  • Provide outstanding support for students with additional needs, helping them to engage in their learning

  • Work on a 1:1 basis where required to help support academic and personal progress

  • Support the classroom teacher in the day-to-day running of the lessons and classroom

  • Help students develop their emotional wellbeing and equip key life skills

  • You must be flexible to work across sites and at their outreach centres

About you:

  • Must have a genuine passion for making a positive difference to the lives of young people

  • Able to remain calm and professional, especially when managing challenging behaviour

  • Previous experience working with individuals with additional needs is essential

  • Must be able to drive, have access to your own vehicle (must have been driving for at least 2 years). You must have insurance for business use (or willing to get this)

  • Good sense of humour

  • Willing to be adaptable and flexible

Working hours will be 8:45am - 4:45pm, Monday to Friday, term time only.
